Muž menom Ove / Hannes Holm / Sweden 2015 / 116 min. – A comedy drama about unexpected friendship, love, and the importance of surrounding yourself with the right things. Ove, who found his way to the screen from the pages of an internationally acclaimed bestseller by Fredrik Backman, is a typical grumpy old man next door. Lonely and stubborn, retired with strict principles, he has given up on living his life to the fullest—spending his days visiting his wife’s grave and enforcing the rules of the homeowner association that only matter to him. When a noisy young family moves into the neighborhood and accidentally flatten Ove’s mailbox, an unlikely friendship ensues. It allows us to understand why Ove was once happy and why his heart is broken. The film tells a touching story about the unreliability of first impressions, reminding us that life is sweeter when shared with others.”
The event is organized in collaboration with Film Europe.
