Svätopluk Mikyta: Tlejúce zátišia

The opening of the exhibition Tlejúce zátišia (Smoldering Still Lifes) will take place on September 3 at the Zichy Gallery in Old Town.

The slow, intense, and uninterrupted accumulation of material, memories, experiences, and tools that have lost their meaning and are searching for a new one over several years is a persistent initiating moment for the author’s development of his work in the passing of time. Smoldering—a quiet and insistent state—is the precursor to burning. The flames are not yet visible, but the promise of light is reappearing in shallow furrows.
