The Second Life of Things
Book and toy exchange, creative workshop, and reading for children at the YMCA.
The last Saturday in November will belong to children, books, and sustainability at the well-known YMCA building on Karpatská Street in Bratislava. The Old Town Library in Bratislava invites you to the event The Second Life of Things, which will take place on Saturday, November 29. The event combines the theme of sustainability with reading, creativity, and a community atmosphere.
Visitors can look forward to a book and toy exchange from children for children, a creative workshop from the Goethe-Institut Slovakia, and interactive readings for children with the Prešporkovo family center. The event is an ideal opportunity for responsible shopping or exchanging gifts that are often no longer available in stores.
“The second life of things is about sharing not only books, toys, and ideas, but also the joy of spending time together. We want to show children that things can still have value even when they are no longer new, and that reading and creativity can be part of a sustainable lifestyle,”* says Jana Slezáková, director of the Old Town Library in Bratislava.
