The Treasure of the Inca

Uncover the greatest golden treasure of the Inca, enter the history of settlement of America and discover ancient civilizations and their rituals. The world-renowned exhibition “Treasure of the Inca” – in Slovakia for the first time at Bratislava castle from 24 June 2020!

This world-renowned exhibition, “Treasure of the Inca”, was created with the patronage of the government of Peru and forms the largest golden treasure in the world, illustrating the level of wealth and development of pre-Columbian era America. For the first time this golden treasure has left the South American continent to be exhibited in Europe to demonstrate the long history of Peru. The exhibition illustrates the complete history of settlement of the American continent. The mysticism of their rituals and their worship of gold as the divine essence of life make this ancient civilization a mythical realm which once enchanted the Spanish conquerors and which still attracts awe and admiration to this day The traces of ancient history are literally engraved in the gold masks, jewellery and sacrificial knives. For the indigenous people gold was not a sign of wealth, as for Europeans, but rather a symbol of the gods themselves.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the exhibition venue box office from 10.00 to 19.00 (Mon-Sun), with last admission at 17.30.
