Vernisáž výstavy Alexandra Hrehová: Past-viny
On Friday, 17 January from 19:00 to 21:00 there will be an opening for Alexandra Hrehova’s exhibition entitled Past-viny
During Alexandra Hrehova’s exhibition there will be a musical set created from songs by the musical interprétka Mess.
Mess is a Slovak singer and rapper who is known for her authentic lyrics and music, and who often combines subtlety with deep emotions. Among Mess’s best-known tracks is n e m u s i m e . s a . b a t with Porsche Boy, which showcases her ability to fuse rap with a more subtle but still powerful musical expression. Her music is authentic and open, allowing her to create a deep and personal relationship with her listeners. Mess is an artistic expression that brings a sense of security because there are no masks – only the truth and what is really important.
The exhibition will be open from January 17 to March 7, 2025.
Alexandra Hrehová: Although Alexandra Hrehová’s overall oeuvre is quite varied thematically and technically, her current paintings deal with issues related to the feminine gender and personal identity. She works predominantly with figurative painting, where folkloric elements and motifs are regularly present, thus linking the past with the present. A key symbol appearing in her works are the masks that cover the faces of the women, but also her own, leaving space for the viewers to imagine themselves under the masks. By using masks, she points to the generational traumas of women and thus opens a dialogue on this issue, which has deep roots in our Slovak customs and traditions. In her work, she draws not only on collective memory, but also on personal memory in an attempt to find her own healing.
