VIVA MUSICA! FESTIVAL GRAND PRIX

Viva Musica! festival grows from year to year, and one proof of that is the fact that in 2016 the concerts were extended for the first time outside the confines of Bratislava.  The Viva Musica! festival Grand Prix is a project resulting from the festival’s collaboration with the organisers of the Competition for Conservatory Students in Slovakia, one of the oldest and most important performers’ competitions in Slovakia, with a tradition of over 40 years. Via the creation of a special award, the Viva Musica! festival Grand Prix, the best students in each category acquire an opportunity to play a series of concerts in the eponymous concert cycle. Hence in 2016 a total of eleven of the best students from all Slovakia performed in ten concerts in various places in the Bratislava and Nitra administrative regions.

In 2017 competitions were held in the following categories: piano playing, accordion playing, violin playing, chamber playing, and singing. The twelve laureates of the Viva Musica! festival Grand Prix will again perform during the summer months at concerts in the Bratislava region, with one concert to be held in Hainburg in Austria. Admission to all concerts is free.
