Devín Hike and Drink Tour
Hiking to the sandstone monument, Carpathian forests, abandoned 1980’s Czechoslovak military headquarter, the legendary Devín castle and currant wine tasting.
During this tour, you will walk to the unique sandstone monument Sandberg. Enjoy great views over the Morava river to Austria – Vienna and the Alps can be seen on a clear day. We will hike through preserved beech forests to the highest point of Bratislava city, Devinska Kobyla (514 metres above sea level). During the Cold War, missile headquarters and other military objects of the Czechoslovak army were strategically located here. We will get the chance to explore these abandoned objects and breathe the special atmosphere of the forgotten past.
After hiking down to Devin, we visit the unique ruin of Devín castle with splendid views and a memorial to the victims of the Iron curtain. At the end of the adventure, glass(es) of local currant wine are ready for you to taste in an authentic wine cellar.
