Post-socialistic Sightseeing
Visit a concrete housing estate Petrzalka and a spectacular monument Slavín, dedicated to the Soviet soldiers. Discover abandoned factories, riverside developments, bunkers dating back to 1938 and admire socialist architecture.
Take in the view of the City from above and walk around the largest cemetery in Bratislava, dedicated to the Soviet soldiers. The cemetery can be found under the magnificent Slavín monument visible from far afield. Then return to the City Centre and check out the largest socialist-realism square in Bratislava, with its rather large unusual fountain.
Enjoy the 1970’s architecture of the House of Trade Unions and the hi-tech market hall. Take a bus ride through the largest housing estate in Central Europe – legendary Petržalka district. Visit unique Iron Curtain zone at the edge of Bratislava with the line of bunkers dating back to 1938.
