What good and bad examples of the use of public space look like, visitors can see directly in the field during a walk with Jan Urban, an architect and one of the creators of the Public Spaces Manual

 

OLO – REFUSE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL

City bazaar – Don’t throw things away, pass them around
April 23, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., premises of Bratislava Municipal Enterprise, Bazová 8
The fourth edition of the popular event Municipal Bazaar gives a second chance to objects that are useless for some, but could be useful for others. Thanks to the three bazaars held in the last two years, 32 tons of unused things have not ended up as waste, but we have moved them to the next use. We thus conserve natural resources and support sustainability and circular economy in Bratislava. The collected funds are deposited in a transparent account and will be used to create a stable Bratislava reuse centre.

 

CITY FORESTS BRATISLAVA

Forestry Days
April 22 – 23, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Partizánska lúka
Forestry Days are a nationwide event for all those who love Slovak forests and nature. The aim of the event is to actively present forests, nature protection and forestry in the form of various events, programs and activities of forest pedagogy. A program entitled Wood Poetry will take place on the meadow Partizánska lúka from 9:30 to 15:30. The event will be attended by forestry organizations, nature conservation organizations, beekeepers or hunting association.

BRATISLAVA MUNICIPAL POLICE

Task Force and Cynology Unit, Obchodná 29
Presentation of the work of the municipal police. Visitors will get to know the equipment, equipment, cars and also the technique used by the municipal police officers. Policewomen and policemen will present their work and the situations they encounter in the capital

 

BRATISLAVA TRANSPORT COMPANY

Trolleybus Day in the Hroboňova Depot
April 23, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Hroboňova Depot
Presentation of the Hroboňova trolleybus depot for the first time to the general public. Activities and competitions for families with children, passengers and fans of public transport accompanied by music, interviews, an attractive interpretation about the functioning of the wagon yard and a workshop. Every hour from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a commented ride through the washroom and through the workshop. The trolleybus day will also include the recruitment of new drivers, while registered candidates for the profession of driver will be given the opportunity to try to drive a vehicle in a separate area under the supervision of an instructor. There will also be no need for refreshments. A stylish Trolleybus café and small bites will be prepared right in the area. There will also be an experience driving historical vehicles around the city circuit with a guide. During the trip, riders will be able to mark their season ticket. The transport company sends three historical lines (A), tram (H), trolleybuses (M) and buses.

Workshop afternoon for kids (and adults) will offer all you ned to produce a tassel of a book from recycled paper. At any time from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. you can stop by the Young Readers’ Section and get started with the work. Special recycled papers, letter stamps, paints and dyes will be prepared for you. The event is suitable for children, but also for adults
