STRATEGIC POSITION, CREATIVITY AND KNOW-HOW

Bratislava Motor City will soon be joined by an enlarged factory from the European automotive giant Volkswagen. The latest addition will further solidify Bratislava as one of the most important European production locations in the automotive industry. At the same time, the new factory at Bratislava Motor City is positive news for the Slovakian meetings industry that supports the automotive industry with numerous innovative solutions for organising events.


Bratislava was selected over competitive locations due to Slovakia’s strategic position, creativity and know-how. Moreover, the location was chosen ahead of Turkey because of the low work costs. The European automotive giant will invest around a billion euros into the expansion of the high-tech factory, consequently creating around 2000 new workplaces. By 2023, the factory will start manufacturing the Škoda Superb Estate and the Volkswagen Passat. Up to now, Volkswagen has already invested around 4,5 billion euros into its Bratislava plant.

Currently, around 12000 employees are employed at Bratislava Motor City. Additionally, numerous workplaces are ensured by local car dealerships. The factory situated in Devinska Nova Vas in Bratislava is where models such as the Volkswagen Touareg, Volkswagen Up, Audi O7 and its big brother Q8, Porsche Cayenne, Seat Mii and Škoda Citigo are produced. Alongside this factory, the Volkswagen Group has another factory in Martin, where they manufacture gearboxes and engine parts. In 2023, The selection of vehicles coming from the assembly lines at Bratislava Motor City will be joined by Škoda Superb and Volkswagen Passat.
