The top equestrian event DANUBE Equestrian Festival Bratislava 2022 and the Longines EEF Series returned to Bratislava after a few years. The prestigious show jumping races took place from 19 to 22 May in a scenic location on Tyršovo nábreží.

The event followed the traditional Grand Prix Bratislava, which took place in the Slavia complex for many years. The organisers decided to make the event even more attractive and moved it to the city centre. A completely new complex was created on Tyršovo nábreží that posed a challenge for the organisers. In addition to the equestrian centre itself, the organisers had to construct a grandstand for spectators and a place for accompanying events. The budget climbed to an estimated 800,000 euros.

Continuing to host prestigious equestrian events in the future

“Every year, we want to bring something new and interesting to Slovakia in the field of sports. Last year it was L’Etape Slovakia by Tour de France. The idea was to implement it in an unconventional place. The first place we thought of organising it was Tyršovo nábrežie. We have chosen this public space because we think it can be representative of Bratislava and Slovakia,” said event president Peter Pukalovič.

The meeting will be the second in the Nations Cup series within the Central Region. “I am pleased that the long-standing tradition of show jumping has returned to Bratislava, giving the spectators the opportunity to soak up the atmosphere and energy of this exceptional experience,” said Andrej Glatz, the event’s honorary president.

The organisers wish to continue the long tradition of organising prestigious equestrian events in the capital in the coming years and move it to a higher level. In addition, the organisers also prepared a number of accompanying events for visitors. There was an EXPO exhibition, a food zone, the opportunity to try horseback riding and various other activities associated with this sport.
