Bratislava Christmas is coming back
Tune in for the most popular holidays of the year in the metropolis of Slovakia
Although in December snow is quite rare in the capital, it does not affect the Christmas mood. The light up streets with Christmas decorations are especially enchanting in the evening. In addition, the Christmas Market and the accompanying programme will enrich the Advent season after a few years’ break.
For many years, a Christmas tree inseparably belongs to the local Christmas colour of Bratislava. In old Bratislava, it was not only a symbol of Christmas, but also of human fellowship, which the locals perceived as the main message of the holidays. This year, it will once again be raised in light feather at the Main Square, where the citywide market dedicated to Christmas will also be held.
The Christmas-themed programme can be found on Franciscan Square. There will be concerts on Fridays and Saturdays, and on Sundays you can enjoy a programme for families with children. You can also walk through the Christmas Forest on Primate’s Square. As usual, Bratislava primary schools and primary art schools will be involved in its preparation.
The Advent programme will also take place in the Klarisky Concert Hall during the whole Christmas period, and particular city districts are also planning Christmas market or a thematic programme.
Come to enjoy the pre-Christmas atmosphere in the capital of Slovakia, please yourselves with the overall festive ambience of the place and get ready for perhaps the most beautiful time of the year with your loved ones, friends or colleagues. Help to maintain the cosmopolitan and multicultural character of Bratislava as a city of peace and tolerance. Because the true spirit of Christmas is love.
The Bratislava Christmas is brought to the capital by the local municipality and the Bratislava Cultural and Information Centre
