Christmas markets Bratislava 2025
Christmas markets in Bratislava combine local flavors, culture, and winter atmosphere in several squares in the city center, from late November until the epiphany.
Venue of the Bratislava Christmas Markets
Bratislava Christmas Markets will once again fill Hlavné and Hviezdoslavov Squares with festive cheer. The grand opening takes place on November 28 at 18:00, when both Christmas trees will be lit and the Advent season officially begins.
The markets open daily from 10:00 to 22:00, from November 27, 2025, to January 6, 2026, except on December 24 and 25. Visitors can look forward to a warm and joyful atmosphere throughout the holiday season.

Food that will satisfy even the pickiest eaters
On the Main Square, guests can enjoy both traditional and international Christmas dishes. From rich cabbage soup and crispy langos to exotic bao and gyoza, there’s something for everyone. Vegan options will also be available. To drink, visitors can choose from mead, grog, fruit wines, beer, or non-alcoholic beverages for children and adults. Each vendor will also offer a “Benefit Tip” – a special discounted food or drink option.
Across the Main and Primatial Squares, there will be 74 stalls in total: 45 food stands and 25 craft stalls offering handmade decorations, beeswax products, ceramics, and leather accessories.

On Hviezdoslavov Square, visitors can explore 16 food stalls and nine craft stands, while the street food zone will feature 11 rotating food trucks with new tastes each week.
The organizers also focus on sustainability. Four waste sorting stations will help reduce waste, and a deposit cup system allows visitors to return their cups at any market stall – following the motto “One city, one place, one returnable cup.”

Relaxation Zones and the Christmas Forest
A welcoming zone will appear on the Main Square – a covered, barrier-free space for families with children, seniors, and anyone seeking a moment of calm. Next to it, the Christmas Forest on Primatial Square will feature 40 trees decorated by children from elementary, art, and special schools.
Starting December 15, these trees will be distributed to families and charities, spreading holiday warmth and joy across the city.

Rush less, take the time to slow down…
On Hviezdoslavov Square, a Family Zone will invite children to explore a straw slide, tree maze, and carousel. At its heart stands a wooden Nativity scene with cozy seating that creates the feeling of an open-air chapel.
Children can also join creative workshops, while adults relax in the “living rooms” – semi-enclosed seating areas near Rybné Square. The zone also includes an ArtBox featuring artwork by Ivana Šáteková, accompanied by soft background music.
