Markus Anton Huber, Milan Lukáč: Obrazy / Sochy
A joint exhibition featuring two prominent figures in the visual arts—Austrian painter and printmaker Markus Anton Huber and Slovak sculptor Milan Lukáč.
Markus Anton Huber’s work is spontaneous, inspired by free-flowing thoughts and subconscious imagination. Drawing on the principles of Surrealist psychic automatism, the artist frees himself from the dictates of reason to record his thoughts and feelings as a reflection of his innermost self. His artistic expression builds on abstract work in poetic and lyrical forms, where he combines a delicate network of lines, curves, and grids with a monochromatic use of color on canvas or handmade paper.
Milan Lukáč combines his own sculptural material with a variety of used or found metal objects in the style of l’art trouvé. He draws on the raw poetics and formal strangeness of these fragments to compose sculptures full of movement. He draws inspiration from the world of plants and animals, which he symbolically connects to the human world. His figurative works also represent a significant chapter in his oeuvre, particularly historical and mythical figures that evoke delicate metaphors and personal stories.
