Day 1
- 10:00 – 11:30: One-way cruise to Devín (20% discount with Bratislava Card)
- 11:30 – 14:00: Devín (Free with Bratislava Card)
- 15:00 – 19:00: Bratislava Zoo (Free with Bratislava Card)
- 19:30 – evening: Leberfinger Restaurant (10% discount with Bratislava Card)
The first day will take you straight to the waves of the Danube – the boat trip on Devín itself is an experience that offers unique views of the Bratislava skyline, the green banks, and the quiet corners of the Danube’s branches. It is a pleasant way to enjoy the city from a different perspective and at the same time take a moment to relax before the adventure that awaits you.
After anchoring under the castle cliff, a short but picturesque walk along the river awaits you to Devín Castle – a place with a rich history and a symbol of Slovak freedom. The ruins standing above the confluence of the Danube and Morava offer unforgettable views that will delight not only parents but also children. In the castle premises, you can get acquainted with the fascinating exhibitions and legends associated with this place.
After the tour, treat yourself to lunch – either right in the vicinity of Devín, where you will find cozy restaurants, or wait until the afternoon and combine lunch with a visit to the next stop. This is the Bratislava ZOO, popular among families with children. More than 150 species of animals, including lions, giraffes, and hippos, will delight both young and old visitors. The ZOO offers plenty of relaxation areas and refreshment options, making it an ideal place to spend the entire afternoon.
End the day in the stylish Leberfinger restaurant, one of Bratislava’s traditional establishments. In an elegant yet friendly environment, you can enjoy classic Bratislava specialties, fish dishes, and sweet desserts. As a bonus, there is a magnificent view of the Danube, which will create a perfect ending to the first day of your family program.

However, do not forget about the practical details. You must board the boat heading to Devín fifteen minutes before departure and book the cruise in advance. With the Bratislava Card, you will get a twenty percent discount, and the cruise will only take place with a minimum of thirty passengers. The boats depart from the Personal Port on Fajnorovo nábrežie. The pontoon number can be found on the illuminated board above the entrance to the Personal Port building. The timetable changes according to the season: in spring, sailings are daily except Mondays at 10:00, in summer, there is also an afternoon connection at 14:00, in autumn, there are cruises only on weekends at 9:00 and 13:00, and in November only on weekends at 9:00. More information can be found on the website www.lod.sk.
From Devín, we recommend ordering a taxi (Uber, Bolt, or Hopin taxi) to the ZOO. From the ZOO you can get to the center by bus number 37, which will take you to the SNP Bridge – from there it is only a few minutes walk to the UFO restaurant for dinner.
