About Bratislava MICE Day

Bratislava MICE day is an original Slovak concept that comprises of educational sessions organised for the local community. The first edition of Bratislava MICE Day started in 2016 and the event became an annual checkpoint for the professional community. Knowledge gained at the workshop is important for all MICE stakeholders, who are co-creating one of the next top destinations in New Europe.

 

WHAT BENEFITS CAN CONGRESSES BRING TO BRATISLAVA?

On 20 October 2020, Bratislava Convention Bureau which is part of Bratislava Tourist Board organised the 13th edition of Bratislava MICE Day. Due to the COVID-19 situation, the Bratislava MICE Day workshop was held online for the first time. The main talking point of the workshop was the importance of congresses and congress centres for the destination and almost 50 attendees joined the session.


Providing their expert opinion on the topic were Tamara Bernstein, Regional Europe Manager of ICCA, Christian Woronka, Director of Vienna Convention Bureau, Roman Muška, Director of Prague Convention Bureau and Elenida Shkarpa, Association Management Officer of EBJIS. The session was moderated by David Pobjecky, Head of Bratislava Convention Bureau.

The organisers chose Cisco’s video-conferencing app Webex to carry out the online workshop. The platform is gaining popularity among the professional public, clocking over 590 million users in September 2020.
