Where to Eat Like Royalty

We prepared a selection of places and delicacies you can try while enjoying coronations.

Zylinder Café & Restaurant

Savour the authentic cooking! The chef has carefully selected exceptional treasures of Austrian, Slovak and Hungarian cuisine, which he has “spiced up” with contemporary culinary trends.

Enjoy the specialties that even Emperor Franz Josef liked. Will it be a unique Tafelspitz, beef “Szeged goulash”, Pörkölt, “Prešporský schnitzel” or delicious Kaiserscharrn?

Emperor’s Tafelspitz is a delicacy of beef rump in a delicious soup with vegetables, that could not be missing even at the imperial court during the Habsburg era. And it was Emperor Franz Joseph I who was a great fan. Tafelspitz is prepared from the so-called flower tip, served in a copper pot with root vegetables, apple horseradish, spinach and potatoes.

Leberfinger

Good old Pressburg (historical name of Bratislava) cuisine can be found on the right bank of the Danube in the Janko Kral´s Park since 1894. The interior reminding of Pressburg in the 1920’s, a glass of tank beer or fine wine from the own wine bar are a must.

The history of this placce began to be written in the second half of the 18th century, during the reign of Maria Theresa. Enjoy the uniqueness of Prešporok (another historical name for Bratislava 😊) specialties: Duck roast, Leberfinger’s huge veal / pork schnitzel, with Slovak potato salad, Veal perkelt with apples and butter gnocchi, Belvedere steak from “sviečkovica”, Deer tenderloin in rosehip sauce, Tafelspitz “Franz Josef” with boiled vegetables or Viennese roast beef with fried onions, potato puree.

Restaurant Hradná

The popular castle restaurant offers Slovak cuisine with a wonderful view. Try for example rooser consommé or join the Sunday brunch. In addition to the summer menu, you can also look forward to the popular fried schnitzel with Slovak potato salad or a delicate tenderloin like made by our grandma’s.

The Burgess Brewery

Where good beer is brewed, the cuisine they ‘brew up’ must also be good. The beers of this local brewery are accompanied by a selection of meals prepared using traditional Presburg (Bratislava) recipes. Pork tenderloin in cream, dill sauce with dumpling, roast knee, goose and many other delicacies, together with a pleasant hop aroma all around.

CLOUD Restaurant

Maria Theresa themed menu waiting for you outside the city center, but well worth the visit. All the courses are inspired by favorite dishes of Maria Theresa. As she suppsoedly had a sweet tooth, you can look forward to a special dessert.
