The Parisian duo Il Est Vilaine has been captivating audiences for years with their energetic blend of new wave, techno, disco, and surf rock—much to the delight of everyone who (still) dances in the style of Ian Curtis. In today’s unpredictable digital world, the song Surf Rider—one of their classics released ten years ago—is once again enjoying massive success online. Director Paolo Sorrentino also contributed to this, making it a recurring motif in his new film La Grazia. All signs point to their next album, scheduled for release this year, bringing a healthy dose of new energy.
