Ka Baird + Ondrey Zintaer

American Ka Baird will perform at A4 in Bratislava on April 13. Ondrey Zintaer will introduce the evening.

Ka Baird is an American multi-instrumentalist, searching for inspiration in sacred rituals, but following Joan La Barbara’s maxim that “voice is the original instrument”, the possibilities of the human body are always at the heart of her work. Ka Baird is a founding member of the Chicago experimentalists Spires That In The Sunset Rise, who then went onto release two records as Sapropelic Pycnic – the improvised piano album See Sun Think Shadow on Brooklyn’s Perfect Wave and the Coltrane tribute A Love Supreme on Chicago’s No Index in 2016.

Ondrey Zintaer is a musical experimenter combining free improvised playing on brass instruments with electronic music at the intersection of drone, noise, bustle and soundscapes along with the recitation of his own poems. He has collaborated among others with Japanese drummer Ryosuke Kiyasu, plays in the Košice improvisational group Exiters and sings in the dark-core band Ničiteľ.
