Part of the accompanying program of the „One World“ festival will be the discussion „How to balance and not belittle?“ Images of the Roma minority in the media“. The event will take place on November 9 at 19:30 in Bratislava’s A4 and will also be streamed online.

The majority of journalists work in the media. This can, even in a good faith, affect the way they inform (not only) about the Roma minority. The images that are presented to the audience are often either stereotyping or, on the contrary, problematic phenomena are „preventively“ omitted in them – to be sure that they do not accidentally replicate stereotypes or prejudices. So how to cover such difficult topics without stereotypes and prejudices and at the same time in such a way that journalists remain credible to the audience?
