Archi-run
Organizer’s text:
Discover iconic buildings from a completely different perspective. Join us for the first edition of the Archirun architectural run!
Bratislava will be transformed into an unconventional running course. Archirun will take you beyond the usual sidewalks, allowing you to discover hidden corners you pass by every day, visit architectural landmarks, get a glimpse of upcoming buildings, and see the city from the rooftops.
The route is approximately 8.5 km long. Participants start in waves every 10 minutes in groups of 20. You’ll choose your time slot when you purchase your ticket. You’ll gain access to areas normally off-limits to the public and learn information you wouldn’t otherwise be able to find out.
You’ll go up to the rooftops of The Mill and the Zwirn Office, take a behind-the-scenes look at the New Market Hall—including original blueprints—see how a new building can be integrated into an old one at the Bratislava Puppet Theater, and enjoy an exhibition at TU-BA.
It starts and ends at Komenský Square. You’ll be running through the city without any road closures, amid normal traffic. The recommended route will be marked on-site as well as on online and offline maps. If you don’t feel up to running the entire route, you can walk it, bike it, or take public transportation.
Capacity is limited to 300 participants. Register today and enjoy a running workout with breaks like never before. All runners, walkers, children, seniors—simply anyone interested in architecture, the city, and Bratislava—are welcome. There will be no timing or results at the event.
