Bratislava in Motion 2025

The international contemporary dance festival Bratislava in Motion will bring legends of the dance scene, internationally acclaimed choreographers, and young talents to the capital this fall.

The program of the 29th edition of the festival will open with the extraordinary work Natural Order of Things by the renowned choreographic duo Guy Nader & Maria Campos. There will also be a performance by American postmodern dance pioneer Lucinda Childs. The German ensemble tanzmainz will perform a choreography by renowned author Moritz Ostruschnjak. From October 6 to 25, 2025, artists and ensembles from five European countries, Canada, and the USA will perform over nine evenings.

„This year’s program focuses not only on where contemporary dance is heading, but also on where it comes from. Festival audiences will be able to see how the art of dance has changed from postmodernism to today’s expressions inspired by the digital world,“ says Miroslava Kovářová, the festival’s artistic director. „We believe that our program will deliver visually powerful, expressive, and intense artistic experiences.“*
