Brighter Death Now + Raison d’être + Vyšehrad

Hradby samoty and Deep Dive bring an evening with Swedish projects Brighter Death Now and Raison d’être. The solo project Vyšehrad from the Czech Republic will perform as well. The event will take place on December 6 in Fuga.

Brighter Death Now is the artist name under which Roger Karmanik, the founder of the Swedish record label Cold Meat Industry, is releasing death industrial, power electronics and dark ambient music. Whereas early Brighter Death Now recordings tended to be largely instrumental and atmospherically oriented, present-day releases often feature screamed vocals, distorted beyond comprehension. Throughout its history, Karmanik has kept his music’s thematic elements focused on such topics as sadism and psychosis. The Great Death trilogy and May All Be Dead have become rare collectors items, and are sought after by many Brighter Death Now fans.

Raison d’être was formed in 1991 as a tool of expression with the goal of self-realization. Behind the project, there is the multi-talented sound artist Peter Andersson. For almost three decades now, Raison d’être has been creating music with overwhelming dark ambient drone industrial qualities. In recent years Andersson works mainly with field recordings and acoustic instruments. A majority of the Raison d’être albums were released on the Swedish Cold Meat Industry label. The Empty Hollow Unfolds album was voted as the single best release in the history of Cold Meat Industry. Peter Andersson received a recognition award from the state authority The Swedish Arts Grants Committee for his music achievement. „Experiencing Raison d’être is like diving into the obscure hidden domains of one’s inner self.“

Vyšehrad is a one-man, music-visual and experimental project that combines several genres in its work. In the workshop located in the oldest settlement in Prague, dark ambient, dungeon synth, lofi black metal, martial industrial and many other genres are created. The topics that Vyšehrad deals with refer to the prehistory of mankind, to original peoples, to controversial aspects of human life and soul, to differently perceived historical events. Vyšehrad’s songs describe dreamlike wanderings and journeys to unknown parts of the land and mind. The music of the project, which is often created directly on the spot, is always in some way mentally linked to the given place, history or emotions that it radiates. The new cassette .:tunnels:. released by Sky Burial productions will also be available at the concert.
