Konektiv Nights presents new musical collaborations that bring together diverse musical genres and the cultures of individual musicians. This radical fusion of different creative approaches enables the exploration of exciting and unexpected outcomes, whilst symbolising a complete rejection of prejudice against foreigners and minorities.

Aldana Duoraan & Tomáš Niesner

Transcending the boundaries between traditions, sounds and instruments, musicians Tomáš Niesner and Aldana Duoraan have created their first joint album, Plot. The sound of the chomus meets guitar melodies simplified into pentatonic scales, intertwining in a dialogue that remains playful whilst moving between meditative passages and captivating, hypnotic moments. These melodies, both solid and constantly shifting, explore the delicate relationship between present-day interactions, their past and their possible futures. “I feel that the essence of our collaboration is not to finalise the pieces, but to leave them open so that they can evolve and be interpreted slightly differently each time, depending on the circumstances,” explains Niesner, describing the duo’s artistic approach. The recording therefore captures only the most essential moments and ideas, which are further developed in new directions during live performances.

Husam Abed

The Jordanian-Palestinian artist Husam Abed is a composer, oud player, percussionist and singer. His music is as emotionally charged as it is politically resonant – moving fluidly between ambient, folk, electronic and hip-hop influences. He is currently a PhD student at the Bath School of Music and Performing Arts and holds a Master’s degree in alternative and puppet theatre directing from DAMU in Prague. Abed’s work naturally blends music, theatre and puppetry. His sound explores themes of exile, identity, memory and the absurdity of modern existence. From underground clubs in Prague to cafés in Amman, Abed’s work is a meeting point between the spiritual and the political, the personal and the universal. His music not only transcends cultural boundaries – it challenges the very lines that separate them.
