Komentovaná prehliadka Novej Tržnice

The New Market Hall is gradually catching its second wind. From a little-visited public building, it is becoming a lively hub for food, culture, and socializing—thanks in part to its unique architecture. Its designer is Ivan Matušík, one of the most prominent figures in Slovak architecture.
The architectural tour will highlight the unique values of this modernist market hall, take us to places that are not normally accessible, and show us the improvements that have been made to this iconic building in recent years.

Adam Gajdoš studied architecture at the Vienna University of Technology. In 2014, he initiated the Ikony (Icons) project, a documentary series about personalities of Slovak post-war architecture, which was broadcast on RTVS at the turn of 2020 and 2021 and was a success with both viewers and experts. He is continuing to develop Ikony in his doctoral studies and as part of his collaboration on the upcoming second series of this cycle.
