Off Bratislava 2026: White Noise
The 17th edition of the international festival of contemporary photography entitled White Noise explores the tension between density and legibility in today’s media culture conditions.
The term „White Noise“ in acoustics refers to the sum of all frequencies sounding simultaneously – a sound without a center and without a preferred hierarchy. This term is derived from an optical phenomenon where white light represents a cluster of all color spectra. As a metaphor, however, it precisely captures the state of information saturation in which signals accumulate into a continuous background and chaos is the standard mode of operation.
During the festival, content capturing not only the main curatorial section OFF Bratislava, but also the sections OFF Academy, OFF Libris, and OFF Satellite will be communicated on its social networks. The winners of the ON AWARD, V4 AWARD, and the new additions BORED PEACH CLUB RESIDENCY AWARD and EIKON AWARD will be announced during the opening reception on Friday, November 6th, and the accompanying program will continue throughout the entire duration of the festival.
More information about the program is available on the festival’s website.
