René – The Prisoner of Freedom

The film „René – The Prisoner of Freedom“ will be part of the main program of the „One World“ festival. The screening will take place on November 7 at 5:00 p.m. in Mladosť cinema.

René – The Prisoner of Freedom / Helena Třeštíková / Czech Republic 2021 / 102 min. – After almost 50 years, the Fuck of people [sic] neck tattoo is fading. René, the antisocial recidivist with a bright mind, doesn’t want to be behind bars anymore. He wants to live and perhaps even to love. René became publicly known in 2008 thanks to his film portrait by director Helena Třeštíková, the most significant representative of Czech time-lapse documentary film. What happened to René after the film? Třeštíková provides the answer in the sequel René – The Prisoner of Freedom, in which she observes the hero from the premiere of the original film to the present.
