Celer + Xces VR set
On May 3, the Celer project and Xces VR set will perform at A4.
Celer is an ambient project founded in 2005 in California by Will Long and Danielle Baquet-Long. They became known for their emotive, minimalist soundscapes, created through handmade recordings, sound installations, and albums for independent labels. Their work focused on memory, the passage of time, and introspection. Following Danielle’s death in 2009, Celer continues as Will Long’s solo project. He continues to develop the project’s signature sound and has also founded his own label, Two Acorns. Today he is based in Japan, and his work offers a deep, almost transcendent listening experience.
The Xces VR set is one form of the Xces project by composer and multi-instrumentalist tOmO, in which he creates a dystopian atmosphere entirely digitally at the intersection of ambient, soundscape, and noise territories, all through improvisation on his custom setup of objects in virtual reality. In short: heavy drones, playful noises, xenharmonic textures, and generative brain-tingling.
This event was supported by public funds from the Fund for the Support of the Arts and the Bratislava City Foundation.
