Diskusia s Denníkom N: Aftermath. Life in the Fallout of the Third Reich

The presentation of the book „Aftermath. Life in the Fallout of the Third Reich“ will be part of the accompanying program of the „One World“ festival. The event will take place on November 10 at 18:00 at the Goethe Institute and will also be streamed online.

Harald Jähner is one of the most important German historians and journalists. His award-winning book explains how Germany was able to rise again after the defeat and, in particular, how it was difficult but determined to build a democracy and an open society. In writing about history, the author brought a deep understanding of human destinies and managed to write a colorful panorama of a world built on the ruins of a dictatorship. His account of the journey from the reign of terror to freedom is extremely instructive for the reader as well.

The evening will be moderated by historian and book translator Miloslav Szabó.
