Discover the most up-to-date across the genres of the North

A Nordic Film Lesson introduces you the diversity and richness of contemporary Scandinavian cinema. It focusws on films that have been successful at festivals or have been well received by local audience and film critics. Selected films are diverse in genre and at the same time they stimulate discussion about current social topics.

The films presented at Scandi will compete for three prizes: the Prize for the greatest cinematographic contribution, the Prize for the most original treatment of the script and the Prize for the most authentic acting performance. This year’s film jury is made up of students of the Film Studies Department at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava.

Scandi was founded in 2014 by Ivan Hronec with the aim of bringing Nordic culture closer to Czech and Slovak audiences. The festival is organized by the experienced team of the film distribution company Film Europe, from the selection of films to the discussions with the guests.

Get an insight into Scandinavian culture through award-winning films from Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Iceland. Discuss with filmmakers, discover diverse genres and important contemporary social topics.
