Art of the Philippines in Danubiana

An exhibition of 23 artists from the Philippines, “Distant, But Strangely Familiar” represents art from a country that is not just a tropical paradise, but is also suffering from overcrowding, corruption and poverty. Some artists respond to these problems and specific political issues with their art. Most of them are into painting, but some create installations, sculptures and collages, two artists focus exclusively on drawing, three artists dedicated their life to photography and video, one to maps and work with textiles, and the last one is a dancer.
