CROSSING BORDERS – An Exhibition of Modern and Contemporary Hungarian Art
The Grüner Collection
The Grüner Collection is a highly focused collection of 20th-century work in different media within Hungary from the mid-1940s to today. It includes masterpieces from outstanding artists of different art movements. The exhibition emphasizes the avant-garde and neo-avant-garde, tracing the history of non-figurative, abstract art produced by Hungarian artists, whether they lived (or still live) in Hungary or abroad.
The Grüner collection is unique in its focus and approach and, in highlighting the work of Hungarian artists with an international focus, the exhibition invaluably helps instill a narrative of the progressive, internationally well-versed and creative art produced by Hungary.
In addition to a detailed presentation of the Grüner Collection, the exhibition also lets visitors develop their own image of the results and changes that have occurred in the special gravity of progressive Hungarian and universal fine art this collection also represents.
