Significant moments in Ivana Matejka’s lifework from the works he donated to the Museum of Photography
The retrospective exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Bratislava photographer Ivan Matejka (1942) is a metaphorical reference to his unique way of visualization and specific lyricism.
The photographer chose views and aesthetic moments from his everyday life, without a trace of pathos, nostalgia or moralization. The themes of Matejka’s photographs seemed to come naturally in his rhythm of life, he did not follow trends in the selection, but his inner creative need.
