With extensive use of renewables and large investment in its nuclear industry, Slovakia’s expertise in every area of the energy sector makes it ideal for international knowledge sharing. By 2026 Slovakia will have six nuclear power plants making it one of the greenest countries in the world for electricity. Slovakia is one of the few EU countries with no coal in its electricity mix, improving air quality and cutting CO₂ emissions. The expansion of its nuclear capacity strengthens its independence and ensures lower wholesale electricity prices.
