Biennial of Illustrations at Bratislava Castle

The Biennale of Illustrations Bratislava (BIB) is about to enter its 28th year within a few days and once again will be held in the 2nd floor picture gallery at Bratislava Castle.

The opening ceremony of this 28th edition of the Bienniale will take place on 15 October 2021 in the historical building of the Slovak National Theatre. The public will discover the names of the new winners of the prestigious prizes, which will be awarded by an international jury composed of experts in the field of literary culture. Nearly 380 illustrators from 42 countries have applied for this year’s Bienniale, submitting more than 2,700 illustrations and nearly 500 books.

This unique event includes creative workshops, discussions with creators and illustrators, plus various activities specifically for children. Visitors can browse the competition titles in a special library. This year all activities will be guided by the current epidemiological situation.
