International Meeting of Minerals and Fossils Collectors

Traditionally, the beginning of December belongs to a rare kind of events in Slovak National Museum’s Natural History Museum in capital of Slovakia

As every year, on the first Saturday in December, collectors of minerals and fossils will meet in the museum premises on one of Bratislava’s embankments to boast of their collections. This year will be December 3rd.

Slovak National Museum and Slovak Geological Society organize a traditional pre-Christmas meeting of minerals and fossils collectors that will take place at the exhibition premises of Natural History Museum in Bratislava.

The international meeting of collectors of minerals and fossils enjoys great popularity among the general public, but also among exhibitors, as evidenced by the high number of exhibitors and visitors registered. It is one of the largest events of this kind in Slovakia.

The whole meeting will be open from 9 a.m. till 4 p.m. Besides the classical collectors specimens of various minerals, rocks or fossils, the visitors will be able to see or buy various jewels or small decorative objects made of precious stones from dozens of exhibitors from Slovakia, Czechia, Poland or Hungary.

Visitors can view and purchase minerals, fossils or products made of minerals from many domestic and foreign exhibitors involved in the sale and distribution of small products made of natural materials.

The offer of exhibitors is exceptionally varied every year, in addition to minerals from Europe, visitors can also see or buy minerals, fossils, small stone products or jewellery from various exotic countries. As part of the meeting, the curators of the Natural History Museum will provide free advisory services for aspiring collectors and the determination of minerals and fossils.
