Online Performance Sabur of Lab Theatre
As part of the project of Lab Theatre for a foreign audience, which exists irregularly for almost an entire season, the theatre has prepared two productions with English subtitles for the people living in Slovakia but originating from elsewhere.
At the same time, it is the last chance to see this production, given the fact that all the actors are currently in their graduate years.
Sabur tells the story of the siege of Sarajevo in the Yugoslav war at the end of the last century. Tito’s death, economic problems and especially strong nationalism have led not only to the disintegration of the country, but also to violence, ethnic cleansing and ultimately to war. Who was to blame and what was the stance of the Western countries? An almost unanswerable question whose vague answer remains in the people there today and leaves them with bitterness and a sense of injustice.
