Opening Concert of the 100th Season
At the opening event of the anniversary season we will remember the most important stages of history of our first theatre scene and listen to pieces of Czech and Slovak composers, which considerably contributed to the constitution of the Opera and Ballet of the SND. Romantic Music by Bedřich Smetana, Antonín Dvořák, musical numbers from compositions by Oskar Nedbal, as well as captivating scenes from operas by Eugen Suchoň and Tibor Frešo will be performed. At this representative concert top soloists and guests of the Opera and Ballet of the SND will perform under the baton of the conductor Dušan Štefánek: Katarína Flórová, Eva Hornyáková, Katarína Kurucová, Aleš Jenis, Tomáš Juhás, Peter Mikuláš, František Ďuriač, Ilinca Ducin, Viola Mariner, Tatum Shoptaugh, Viktória Šimončíková, Andrej Szabo, Adrian Szelle et al. The members of the Drama of SND Monika Potokárová and Štefan Bučko will introduce themselves in the role of hosts. Also the Opera Orchestra of the SND, the Ballet Ensemble of the SND and the Opera Choir of the SND under the direction of choirmaster Pavel Procházka will be performing.
