Celebrations in Pezinok will bring crafts, art and modern period life in mid-June
The 375th anniversary of the granting of the privileges of the free royal town will be celebrated in Pezinok this year on the Town Hall Square by reviving historical events from 1647. You will experience the premiere of Pezinok festival dedicated to this jubilee if you visit the famous wine-growing town on Sunday, June 12.
The big day of Pezinok will be opened with a ceremonial minute-guns and during it from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. you will experience a ceremonial procession, the handover of the privilege of Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand III, fencing entertainment of nobility, a great artillery show, dance performances, period dance lessons, historical fashion show, fencing of nobility with tools of commoners and creative workshops. The festivities will also open a cultural summer in Pezinok.
The aim of the town festivities is to popularize the history of Pezinok through the revival of the events of June 14th, 1647. They will also reflect life in the modern times. The original of the Privilege of King Ferdinand III from 1647, by which he elevated Pezinok to a free royal town, can be viewed at the Municipal Museum in Pezinok from June 9 to 27.
