Robert Leslie + Andrea Bučko
Robert Leslie (NYC) will stop during his „Halfway Home“ tour 2022 at Pink Whale in Bratislava. He will be joined by Andrea Bučko.
Indie folk singer Robert Leslie is touring Europe this autumn to promote his fourth album, Halfway Home released in Brooklyn, NY on August 5, 2022. Folk Radio magazine says (16 august 2022): “Robert Leslie should be a household name. Halfway Home is his fourth album, yet for the most part, his name has been made on the streets of New York.” (…) “Leslie’s songs, fragile gems, reveal new facets with each listen.” (…) “I’m ready to run off to New York and see Leslie in the park while I still can. It won’t always be that way.” Robert takes his inspiration from Bob Dylan, The Tallest Man On Earth, and Sufjan Stevens. Halfway Home was produced by Perry Margouleff (Maroon 5, Paul Rodgers), who applied his analogue philosophy to the material and brought in Tony Garnier on bass (Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Tom Waits), Jake Sinclair on Wurlitzer, Mellotron, piano and vibes (Weezer, Panic at the Disco), and Scarlet Rivera on violin (On Bob Dylan’s ‘Hurricane’ and many other songs).
Andrea Bučko will perform songs from her new album Púšťam (Letting Go), released just three days prior. She describes the songs as “very intimate”. Andrea mixes genres of jazz, indie, soul, French chanson and world music. Her lyrics – in English, French and Slovak – reflect the sensitivity and temperament of her original compositions. Over the years, Andrea has performed at Waves Vienna, Jazz fest Wien, Mea jazz festival, Jazz days of Bratislava, Pohoda festival, TEDx Bratislava, Fête de la musique in Paris, Royal Parc festival Brussels. She also created music for many theatre productions and directed and worked on several theatre plays and closed music for 2 projects for kids (Divadlo Zabavka and Bejby bajbl band).
Halfway Home will be available for sale in vinyl, cassette and CD format at the show.
