Aj ja som Bratislavčan*ka: Oľga Wagnerová – Správkyňa múzea

In its next installation, MMB will present one of the first female history graduates in Slovakia, Oľga Wagnerová (1902–1976).

She made a significant contribution to the development of the Bratislava City Museum between 1927 and 1941. When she joined, the museum had approximately 6,000 items in its collection; after her departure, there were over 22,000. Together with Alžbeta Mayerová, she prepared the first comprehensive catalog of the Bratislava City Museum in 1933. In addition to caring for the collections and her duties as museum administrator, she organized exhibitions, wrote professional texts, and accompanied visitors and distinguished guests.

What was then provided by a small group of people is now being developed by specialized teams at the MMB, building on the foundations laid by Wagner’s pioneering work.
