Blooming of a giant amorphophallus flower
The event, which can be watched only once every few years, will take place in the next few days in the botanical garden of Bratislava.
You can find a rare endangered plant with an inflorescence of almost two meters in the greenhouses of the UK Botanic Garden. Despite the fact that flowering occurs once every two to three years, or even less often, it lasts only a few hours. The plant underground collects energy for flowering, so it is not clear when exactly flowering will take place. It is allegedly also accompanied by a terrible smell.
If you missed the blooming, you can still admire the blooming water lilies and walk around the entire area.
