Bratislava majáles 2019 (Spring Celebration)

The 12th Bratislava Majáles (spring celebration) will take place during the first weekend of May, May 3 – 5, at the traditional venue – the Danube riverbank between the Arena Theater and the city beach.

The Bratislava Majáles is an urban open-air multi-genre festival that is regularly being held since 2008. The festival’s a follow-up to similar urban open-air events in other major European cities, such as Donauinselfest in Vienna or The Thames Festival in London. At the same time, the program of the event emphasizes the importance of events which took place at the beginning of May, in particular the end of the Second World War in Europe and the accession of Slovakia to the European Union. The program of the festival is built on various genres, diversity, tolerance and cosmopolitanism. The program consists of live performances by leading Slovak and Czech music groups and performers, children events, cycling event and also public discussions, workshops and presentations of various civic activities.

Bike ride „Župná dvadsiatka“

A bike ride through Bratislava County with the start and finish at Tyrš riverbank, for all age and performance categories.
Registration: starting at noon at Tyrš riverbank

Length: basic circuit 26 km, circuit for children and families 19 km

Since 2008, more than 1,000 artists have performed at 10 festivals under the name Bratislava Majáles. Bratislava Majáles is a harbinger of large open-air festivals. The event has already been visited by more than 300,000 people. The event organizer of the Bratislava Majáles is a civic association of the same name which organizes the event in cooperation with the municipal council of Bratislava, the Bratislava Self-Governing Region and the European Commission representation office in the Slovak Republic. At the same time, the event is supported by several commercial partners.
