CityMakers: Chybik + Kristof – Od vízie k realizácii
How is high-quality architecture created? What makes a good brief, and why is an architectural competition more than just the selection of a winning design? And how can the original vision of a project be maintained from the initial sketches right through to completion?
CityMakers invites you to a meeting with Michal Krištof, co-founder of the international architectural practice Chybik + Kristof, which operates in the fields of architecture and urbanism, linking local contexts with international experience. The practice has offices in London, Prague, Brno and Bratislava and works on projects ranging from individual buildings to large-scale urban transformations.
Michal Krištof will present the practice’s approach to architectural design, its projects and its way of thinking about challenging briefs. In the ensuing discussion, he will be joined by Jakub Gossányi from Immocap, and together they will offer the perspectives of an architect and an investor on the process of creating a high-quality project.
Using the example of the Éclair residential development on Bottova Street in Bratislava – the design for which emerged from an international architectural competition – they will discuss how to formulate an ambitious yet realistic brief, why an architectural competition is a valuable tool for both the investor and the city, and what is needed to ensure that the original architectural vision is not lost during the subsequent stages of development.
