CORONATION FESTIVAL 2015

The event shows authentic coronation ceremony of 18 kings and queens who were crowned in Bratislava. The king gets from the Archbishop St. Stephen’s crown along with other coronation insignia: the sword, cloak, orb and scepter. After the coronation the king dubs knights of the Golden Spur Order and swears to maintain the integrity of the country on the coronation hill. The coronation ceremony is staged according to historical documents. It’s performed by about 150 actors in period costumes. The event is accompanied by the Bratislava Historical Craft Fair, Historic Fair of the Free Royal Towns, oxen roasting, The Blue Frankish Wine Festival and the event of pouring 500 liters of wine to the fountain.
