Ecko Bazz (Nyege Nyege) & Talpah

Rapper Ecko Bazz and Italian DJ Talpah are set to perform at Nová Cvernovka on 18 September.

Since his groundbreaking debut album Mmaso, released on the Nyege Nyege / Hakuna Kulala labels, the Ugandan socially conscious rapper and acrobatic MC Ecko Bazz has quickly made a name for himself on the international scene. His style blends supernaturally intense trap, demonic nu-dancehall and politically charged poetry in the Luganda language, addressing themes of violence, religion and poverty in Uganda’s slums. Anyone who has had the chance to experience one of his live shows knows what to expect: a feverish flow and electrifying, manic energy. Ecko Bazz moves seamlessly between uncompromising statements and hyperactive shouts, rapping over beats by producers such as Debmaster, Slikback and the British producer PQ (known for the track ‘Nightmare’), as well as many others.

Talpah is an Italian producer and DJ who blends elements of metal, trap, noise and club electronica in his work. His sounds evoke aggressive, futuristic textures mixed with deep bass, ambient layers and the raw energy of hip-hop. He collaborates with leading experimental labels such as Opal Tapes, Hundebiss and Hakuna Kulala. Together with Ugandan rapper Ecko Bazz, he delivers an explosive show that combines manic vocal energy with an uncompromising sound straddling the line between post-apocalyptic club music and hybrid hip-hop.
