EXPERIENCE EARTH DAY WITH NATURAL SCIENTISTS
Enjoy a morning full of discovery, hands-on activities and fun learning this Earth Day. The event is perfect for school groups and families with children who want to explore nature in an interactive way.
Soil Biodiversity – The Hidden World Beneath Our Feet
Join an exciting journey into the fascinating world of soil. Children will explore different types of soil—from agricultural land to sandy environments—and discover the organisms, microorganisms and plant remains hidden within.
Guided by experts in botany, zoology, paleontology and mineralogy, they will investigate “micro-environments” beneath the surface. Using magnifying tools, they will search for seeds, roots and other plant traces, learning what makes soil healthy and full of life.
Devínska Kobyla – A Natural Treasure
The programme also introduces the unique natural heritage of Devínska Kobyla and Sandberg. Children will learn about protected species and see specimens of vertebrates and invertebrates.
In the paleontology section, they will try the work of scientists and discover which fossils are legally protected. Through interactive tasks, they will understand why it is important not to take natural finds home and how to protect our natural heritage.
