FROM THE ACADEMY TO NATURE / SHAPES OF LANDSCAPE PAINTINGS IN CENTRAL EUROPE 1860 – 1890
The topic of central Europe plein air landscape painting which was developing in the former Austro-Hungarian Empire in the years 1860 – 1890, hasn’t been in the spotlight up to now. The exhibition organized by the Gallery of West Bohemia in Pilsen and Slovak National Gallery is one of the first attempts to focus on the work of fine art personalities that were moving between Danube Monarchy and contemporary centers of fine art.
