John Cranko’s Onegin tells a powerful story of unrequited love, loneliness, loss, and regret. Inspired by Alexander Pushkin’s famous novel, the ballet follows the tragic relationship between Tatiana and Onegin in an emotionally charged story of missed chances and painful realization.
Cranko’s masterful choreography, elegant classical staging, and music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky create an unforgettable theatrical experience. Emotional pas de deux and striking ensemble scenes make this production one of the masterpieces of narrative ballet.
