Knights on Devín Castle – Hungarian Knight Tournament
The Society of Ancient Martial Arts and Crafts invites the noble nobility to Devín Castle to respectfully get acquainted with the period of the Middle Ages.

🕙 10:00 – Opening of the gates of Devín Castle
🕚 11:00 – Opening ceremony
🕛 12:00 – Renaissance dances
A story set at a noble ball will reveal many human traits and the beauty of Renaissance court dancing.
🕐 13:00 – Show “The Landsknechts”
A fun and fascinating insight into the first half of the 16th century, when European battlefields were crossed by landsknecht warriors accompanied by equally fierce women.
🕑 14:00 – Magician’s Puppet Show
🕒 15:00 – Hungarian Knight Tournament
Inspired by real historical events surrounding the conclusion of the so-called “Peace of Žitava”, signed by Palatine Thurzo on behalf of the Kingdom of Hungary and the Ottoman Empire.
The participants of the tournament represent actual historical Hungarian figures.
This cultural confrontation will go beyond peaceful competitions and feature a variety of equestrian and foot combat disciplines.
🕟 16:30 – Recital of period music, prose and poetry
Performed by fencing master Peter Koza with live musical accompaniment from the era.
🕠 17:30 – Closing ceremony
🕕 18:00 – End of the event and castle closure

After buying a ticket, in addition to the performances, you can also see the entire area of the castle with all its beautiful corners and interesting exhibits.
You can buy tickets on the day of the event directly at the ticket office at the entrance to Devín Castle or without waiting online in advance.
